International choreographer Elise May and activist, artist and academic Deb Cleland bring you a community-based roving promenade performance with evocative self-lit costumes made entirely of post-consumer recycled materials. Exploring the themes of single-use packaging, consumerism and the myth of individual responsibility, the performance brings together community dancers of all ages.

Elise and Deb’s Plastic Fantastic is part of Project Alchemy facilitated by Canberra based ‘Rebus Theatre’ who selected 15 artists from five local government areas to build community connection across South-East Australia.

As a result of Plastic Fantastic, Deb & Elise have formed a community group called the South Coast Sirens Performance Collective, with projects in the pipeline for 2024
